The Glue That Holds Everything Together

I have no idea how I’m going to fit my big, funny, crazy family into one blog post.  Family is the glue that holds everything together and the foundation of your life.  I am so thankful for the good Lord above blessing me with these people.  Many of you will know them, but for the ones that don’t, you’re in for a treat.  There is never a dull moment with my family!

These are my people.  The ones I love dearly.

Let’s start with the backbone of our family {A.K.A. dad or Paul}.

Even as I kid, I can remember him working all hours of the day to provide for us.  My dad owns a landscape business and a garden center.  He has always provided for his family, not only financially, but with his guidance.  He always points us in the right direction, keeping our path straight.  He makes sure we know right from wrong and how to be generous.  Most of all, he took us to church every time the doors were open.  I will forever be eternally grateful to him for that.  He instilled in me a foundation that cannot and will not be shaken.  He’s stubborn, loud, sarcastic, strong, loud, honest, blunt, smart, and loud.  We love him anyways.

Then you have my mom, Regina, {the one that keeps us all in line}.

She is lovely, sweet, kind, beautiful and giving.  She was always, ALWAYS, there for me growing up.  She never missed anything.  She made sure we had what we needed and were there when we needed to be.  My mom takes care of everyone before herself.  She has always been that way.  She has a heart for others.  She’s also feisty, bluntly truthful, and sassy.  She is one of a kind.  She is everything a mother should be and beyond.  I am so thankful as I grow older, we become closer.  Our friendship is precious to me.

My brother {Kurt}, will always be my little brother, even though he’s all grown up now.  He’s funny, spontaneous and witty.  He helps my dad with the family landscaping business.  He loves anything that runs with a motor.  Wanna see his cool toys?  Check him out on Instagram {@kurtismew}.  His pride and joy is his 1970 Chevrolet C10 custom truck…AND his wife {Jennifer}, of course.  I have a wonderful sister-in-law.  She is thoughtful, pretty, and kind.  She is the best kindergarten teacher in the world.  So thankful for these two.

Then there’s this wild thing, my sister {Kirsten}.  She’s beautiful and lively.  She loves {really, really loves} horses.  They are her passion and life.  She was riding before she could walk.  She is an aspiring horsewoman and is certainly going places in the horse world.  Check her out on Facebook ==> Just Believe Horsemanship.  She is a junior and homeschooled.  We are 9 years apart, but still manage to have a close bond.  There is nothing like having a sister.

Saving the best for last {do I get brownie points for that?!}, is my husband {Erik}.  He is handsome, old-fashioned, simple, and caring.  He works for our local telephone cooperative during the day and turns horseman in the afternoons.  We’ve been married for 3 years.  When we met, he began spending time around the horses.  He fell in love with horsemanship and the lifestyle.  I am so proud of him and his accomplishments.  A couple that stays together supports each other in all aspects.  I adore him and our life together.  He is my best friend.

You didn’t really think I was going to leave this cute face out, did you?  This is Jax, our sweet pup.  He is 5 years old.  He’s rotten beyond words.

You’ll be seeing all of these people a lot on the blog.  They are the ones I couldn’t imagine life without.

Love your family.  Forgive and forget when it comes to family.  They are truly what will be left in the end.  When it’s all said and done, they are the legacy you leave behind.  Make it count.  I know I’m going to.
