Rag Rugs & Jesus

Is anyone else loco/crazy about/in love with the reoccurring “rag rug” trend?!  I seriously want them in every room of the house.  I love all the bright colors and little tassels on the ends!  My sis and I went on a mission to Home Goods to find one for my kitchen and one for the laundry room!

Ah, we finally made it!  By the way, boho lovers, Home Goods has every rag rug ever made I do believe.  I started pulling them off the shelves and inspecting each one.  My sister rolls her eyes at my pickiness.  After about 7 hours of looking at all the rugs, we found two perfect rugs!

Later, I started thinking about all those rag rugs…they looked similar in a way, but each one was different and unique.  Ya know, we are like that in a sense.  Each of us are different and unique.  We have different lives and have made different choices {some we’re proud of, some not so much}.  You know what’s so refreshing?  Thankfully, God doesn’t inspect our flaws and mistakes like I did with the rugs.  God wants me and you, just as we are.

Matthew 11:28 says, “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”  We don’t have to be perfect and flawless to come to Jesus.  In Romans 3, verse 23 tells us, “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”  Jesus paid the ultimate price, so we can come to Him with all our burdens and troubles.  We can lay them down and give it all to Him.  “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.  For God did not send his Son to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.”  John 3:16 & 17 confirms he loves you, me and us.

No matter what you’ve done, what you look like, and what you’re doing now…God loves you and wants YOU, friend!  There is no one else like you!  He’s not going to nitpick you and inspect you in the middle of Home Goods for 7 hours.  Keep your eyes, heart and mind set on God today and everyday.  Lay down your burdens, turn around and don’t look back, you’re not going that way.

Rag Rug Love,
